Let's talk about comics.

Spider-Man in Marvel Now.

A couple of weeks ago, I was talking with my cousin about the new Spider-Man, which is better known as Superior Spider-Man, we discussed about how this Spider-Man was better than the old one and his defects, our points of view were really similar, being smarter than the old Spider-Man is a really good point of advantage, being judge, jury and executioner seems to be pretty useful, ‘cus there are some villains that will never stop attacking the city or, alternatively, the world. But maybe I’m going too fast, I’m going to explain who Spider-Man is and who is Superior Spider-Man.

Well, to begin with, we all know the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man whose secret identity is Peter Parker, don’t we? No? Well, here’s a clue: “With great power, there must also come great responsibility”. Do you remember? Now, Superior Spider-Man, you would be asking yourselves: “Who the *insert bad word here* is he?” well, Do you know “Dr. Octavius”, better known as “Doctor Octopus”. Surprised? Ok, so here is the explanation, Dr. Octopus found the way to transfer his memories and his “soul” (if we can call it that way) to Peter Parker’s body and Peter Parker’s mind to Dr. Octopus body which is the body of an old and sick man in the throes of death, but before the Dr. Octopus body finally succumb to the death, Peter made his move, making his and Otto’s memories link between them to make Otto see all the suffer and pain Peter has had to handle by himself, the death of uncle Ben, being responsible for the death of Gwen Stacy, the death of the Human Torch, joining Iron Man during the superheroes
Civil War, etc.

Finally, Doc. Oc realized that Peter has suffered a lot and then he said: “I swear. I will be Spider-Man. Better yet, with my unparalleled genius, and my boundless ambition, I’ll be a better Spider-Man than you ever were. From this day forth, I shall become… the Superior Spider-Man”. And that’s how Doc. Oc started a new life, with the memories of Pete and the will of protect the people… but, Otto has a different point of view about protecting people or defeating villains, for example, if a villain has committed a crime with a high rank of cruelty he doesn’t deserve to be in jail, the villain deserves to die. It’s a different point of view about the punishment a villain deserves, but to be honest, there are some villains who doesn’t deserve to be treated as humans, yes, they might have mental disorders and they can be treated, but if there’s no psychosis in the middle, that means that the villain killed, robbed, etc., knowing what he was doing and that’s how Otto fights the crime in Manhattan.

Sometimes, in the “The Superior Spider-Man” comic, Peter Parker’s spirit appears in Otto’s mind while he is working or fighting to say what he would do and then… Otto does it better, but it’s not a surprise, because Otto is an ex villain and he knows exactly what the villain he is fighting is going to do, besides he has the very well known “Spider Sense” to prevent the enemy’s movements.

Until Now, I have only said what I’ve read or what I can remember about the comics of “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Superior Spider-Man”.

By the way, all the superheroes, villains and characters mentioned before, are from the Marvel Universe, to be more specific, the 616 Earth, which is the mainstream marvel universe, with the same countries, movie stars, singers and that stuff.

So, who do you prefer, Peter Parker or Otto Octavius as Spider-Man? Don't be afraid and leave a comment with your opinion, thanks for Reading.

  2. I have just read a couple of issues of ‘Superior Spider-man’ and I don’t think is that good. Actually I think it is an over-rated series and everybody knows that Peter Parker will be back sooner or later.
Mike Morales is a great Ultimate Spider-man and I’m pretty sure he’ll do great in Universe 616.
THE ONLY AND TRUE SPIDER-MAN is and will always be Peter Parker.

  4. Great post, very compleate and a really clear idea, now about the superior spider-man the way i see it i was waiting for peter to die but not that way because he really didn't die he is only sharing his body with doc Ock maybe the Doc is now controling everything but pete will come back we all know that maybe we'll have to wait untill he learn a live lesson or something like that so answering your question i choose Peter and remember "have no fear! spidey is here!"

  5. I know who Spiderman is (the original) and I hate the changes, and it becomes worse when a supercriminal uses the mask of my hero. I don't believe that this is the end of Peter Parker, I think this is a horrible history because the writers don't have enough imagination to do something better.
Mike Morales? That's a bad idea, why? Do we really need more Spiderman's than Peter Parker?
